Steve has been passionate about photography since he was a boy, at first borrowing his dad’s camera and then buying his own SLR when he was just 13 years old; using it to photograph the dramatic coastal scenery around his childhood home of St Ives, Cornwall.

He later went on to gain a BA (Hons) from Newport School of Art, Media and Design where he continued to hone his photographic skills in the context of graphic design. He ran his own freelance design business throughout the 90’s, before going on to work for some of Europe’s most acclaimed design and communications consultancies, in London.

In 2006, his lifelong passion for photography mixed with a love of the coast led Steve away from the "Big Smoke" of London to the big skies of East Anglia, where he set up Coastal Studios and subsequently, Coastal Brides.
